A Lady’s Island tree abandoned its own yard to join the Lexus next door
A Lexus parked in the driveway of a Brickyard Point Road North home became the resting place of a fallen tree from a neighboring property early Saturday morning.
The homeowner whose tree fell told Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies that she heard a loud noise around 4 a.m. and came out later that morning to discover her tree had toppled onto her neighbor’s property, according to a Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle owner said she hadn’t heard the noise, but saw its effects in the morning.
The vehicle’s windows had shattered and the rear portion of the roof had caved in, according to the report. The damages were estimated at about $8,000.
