Women at Beaufort stop light didn’t like his stare. He showed them his gun, and went to jail
A 23-year-old Beaufort man allegedly pointed a gun at two women in a nearby car after they had some words for him Monday afternoon.
Cody White faces a felony charge of pointing and presenting a firearm at another person and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful carrying of a pistol, according to online Beaufort County court records. He was held in Beaufort County Detention Center and released on $15,000 bond on Wednesday.
A pair of women told police they were in a vehicle at Boundary Street and Ribaut Road around 2 p.m. and one of them took offense to the way White, in a separate vehicle, was looking at them, according to Beaufort Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Hope Able. When one of the women told White, who was not an acquaintance, how she felt White allegedly pointed a pistol at them, Able said.
The women gave police the vehicle’s plate number and description, which led to White’s arrest a short time later. The pistol was taken into evidence.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
