Beaufort listed among ‘most charming’ Southern vacation destinations

With its moss-draped trees and historic character, it’s no wonder Beaufort is considered one of the most charming spots in the South.

TripAdvisor recently took notice and named the city one of the “most charming Southern vacations you need to experience.”

The website explained that the particular destinations in the list — published in its Rentals blog — were vacation spots “you might not know about, but definitely should.”

Editors wrote, “With its horse-drawn carriages and antebellum mansions, few Southern vacations combine history, hospitality and coastal charm like Beaufort.”

“Get acquainted with this beautiful small town on a photo safari or fishing charter, then fall head over heels for the breezy views at Hunting Island State Park or Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park,” the blog said.

Other destinations sharing the list with Beaufort include locales in the Blue Ridge Mountains; some Gulf of Mexico spots; Brevard, N.C.; Jekyll Island, Ga.; Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and Natchez, Miss.
