Downtown Beaufort safety checkpoint set for this weekend

The Beaufort Police Department will be checking drivers Sunday morning at a safety checkpoint.

Police will be looking for proper seat belt use, driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at Bladen and Bay streets, according to a police news release.

Drivers should use extra caution in this area Sunday morning and be prepared for stopped traffic.
