A woman’s wallet was returned, cash and all, after she left it at a Sea Island Parkway business ice machine Saturday morning, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

The wallet had “a lot of cash” inside when a man found it on top of an ice machine around 7:30 a.m., according to the report. As he arrived, he saw a vehicle leaving and guessed it belonged to that patron, he told deputies. He said he just wanted to help get it back to its rightful owner.

Deputies found the woman’s driver’s license and tried to contact her throughout the day, according to the report. When they found her and met with her on St. Helena Island, she said she had indeed left her wallet at the ice machine in the morning and that nothing was missing when it was returned.
