A Lady’s Island door was smashed in. Guns, ammo a military jacket and more went out
Firearms and ammunition were reported stolen after the back door of a Lady’s Island home was broken down on Wednesday.
A pistol, a rifle, four magazines and about 500 rounds of ammunition were stolen in addition to a military flak jacket, a multipurpose tool and a small safe from a Red Oak Drive home, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report. The break in occurred between about 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The burglar flipped over the victim’s bed and rummaged through several storage bins, according to the report. No jewelry, electronics or cash were stolen.
The total estimated value of the stolen items was about $2,600, plus another estimated $100 to fix the door, according to the report.
