She isn’t sure if her Fripp Island golf cart was stolen or taken for a drunken joy ride

A South Carolina woman visiting Fripp Island reported her golf cart stolen shortly before 4 a.m. on Thursday.

She and her friends met up at The Sandbar on Tarpon Boulevard and left together in another friend’s golf cart around 1:30 a.m., according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report. When they returned around 2:15 a.m., her golf cart was gone.

The woman told a deputy that it might have been stolen, but “she did not know if maybe one of the drunk friends at the bar may have left with it by mistake,” according to the report.

The golf cart had not been recovered by Thursday afternoon, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Bob Bromage.
