A Varnville man was hit over the head with a Mason jar filled with moonshine at a Seabrook party shortly after midnight on Sunday, according to a beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

The man and his wife were visiting friends on Delaney Circle in Seabrook when a man hit the victim on the side of the head with the jar, according to the report. He was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital with a knot and cut on his head as well as a “small chunk missing” from his ear, according to the report.

The attacker allegedly showed up to the house “drunk and loud” and wouldn’t leave when the homeowner asked him to, according to the report. After punching the homeowner, the young man approached the victim’s wife “in a threatening manner” so the man stepped between them, according to the report. After hitting the victim in the head, he allegedly also kicked him several times while he was on the ground.

The suspect is described in the report as a 20- to 25-year-old black man with a dark complexion and short hair, wearing a red tank top, jeans and a bucket hat.
