Thursday night fire on Mink Point contained to garage

A fire off Parris Island Gateway on Thursday night displaced the residents but was contained to the garage.

Firefighters from Burton Fire District and Beaufort-Port Royal Fire Department responded to a home on Mink Point Boulevard, where a utility closet in an attached garage caught fire, a news release said. Damage was contained to the garage.

The residents stayed elsewhere Thursday night but were expected to be able to return home Friday.

No one was hurt, according to the release.
