From its origin as the Beaufort home of planter and politician William Elliott to its current use as a nationally recognized inn, the Anchorage holds many stories.

The history of the Bay Street mansion is the subject of a free lecture at the Beaufort County Library’s Beaufort branch at 2 p.m. Thursday. The talk is part of a Beaufort History Museum lecture series.
