Man stabbed in the back near Beaufort bar; suspect jailed
In an attack that was apparently unprovoked, a 32-year-old Shell Point man allegedly stabbed another man three times in the back outside a bar in Beaufort shortly after midnight Sunday morning.
Jason Crisman faces a charge of attempted murder in connection with the incident that occurred near a Boundary Street bar, according to a Beaufort Police Department media report. Crisman was also charged with public drunkenness.
The adult male victim sustained non-life threatening injuries, Investigator Stephanie Fritz Karafa said Tuesday afternoon.
The victim and Crisman were not acquainted and had not had any kind of verbal or physical argument before Crisman allegedly stabbed him with a folding knife, Karafa said.
Crisman was arrested early Sunday morning and remains in Beaufort County Detention Center. He has not been assigned bond, according to online court records.
