Woman wakes to cold rooms, open window, missing valuables
More than $3,000 worth of purses and electronics were stolen from a St. Helena Island home on Sam Doyle Drive early Tuesday morning.
A thief stole a smart phone, two designer bags and a laptop between about 1 a.m. and 5:45 a.m., according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report. The stolen objects are valued at about $3,200 all together.
The victim reported she woke up Tuesday to find the house cold and a bedroom door and one of the room’s windows — both usually closed — wide open, according to the report. The screen to that window was found in the woods near the home.
