Diamonds, silver coins, checks stolen from Sheldon home

Happy Thanksgiving.

On Nov. 24, a Sheldon woman noticed a book of checks and $10,000 in valuables were missing from her Priester Road home.

The checks and diamond, gold and silver jewelry were taken sometime between Nov. 10 and Thanksgiving, along with a pocket watch and Spanish reales, which are silver coins also called “pieces of eight,” according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputies didn’t find any signs that someone had broken in, according to the report.
