Supporters of a new Beaufort dog park will have another chance to celebrate its opening after the first try was postponed because of Hurricane Matthew.

The grand opening of the dog park will now be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Dec. 3 in Southside Park, 2614 Southside Blvd. The event will include dog treats, and hot dogs and lemonade for dog owners.

A Beaufort fire truck will make an appearance, and fire hats will be passed out to children.

Local rescue organizations, veterinarians, boarders and groomers will be at the park to talk about their services.
