Fight on school bus delays ride nearly an hour
Two teenage students got into a fight while on a school bus from Right Choice school in Beaufort that was traveling down S.C. 170 west near Okatie around 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
A male student allegedly hit a female student on the bus, causing the bus driver to pull over for almost an hour, according to Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Bob Bromage. The scene was cleared around 4:30 p.m.
There were no weapons involved and no arrests were made, Bromage said. The male student was released to a parent at the scene, and the rest of the students resumed the bus ride home.
Beaufort County School District spokesman Jim Foster said he did not want to comment because it was a law enforcement matter.
