A truck driver allegedly hit a motorcycle on Lady’s Island and then drove off
A motorcyclist was reportedly the victim of a hit-and-run at Cedar Crest Circle and Sams Point Road on Lady’s Island around 11:55 p.m. Friday.
The victim told deputies he was making a left turn onto Sams Point Road from a stop sign at Cedar Crest Circle when he saw a white Ford pickup truck coming up quickly behind him, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report. The truck allegedly blew through the stop sign and made a wide left turn, clipping the motorcycle with its bed before finishing the turn onto Sams Point Road, and then continued driving south.
The man on the motorcycle lost control and fell over into the northbound lane, according to the report. He moved himself and his motorcycle out of the roadway and called 911. He wasn’t injured. The truck could not be found, and no license plate information was available.
