Grays Hill man faces marijuana charge after Friday traffic stop
A 29-year-old Grays Hill man faces felony charges after he was allegedly found with over 100 grams of marijuana during a traffic stop Friday afternoon in Grays Hill.
Alexander Reed is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and allegedly had about 114 grams of marijuana, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.
The car in which Reed was a passenger was pulled over for rolling through a stop sign at Bruce K. Smalls Drive and Carolina Avenue, according to the report. The driver appeared to be nervous and evasive and deputies could smell marijuana coming from the car, according to the report. At first, neither man would claim ownership of the pot when deputies found it in the trunk. After several minutes, Reed said it was his, according to the report.
Reed was released from Beaufort County Detention Center Saturday morning on a $10,000 bond, according to online court and detention center records.
