MCAS Beaufort runway to close for maintenance

A Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort runway will close for maintenance starting Tuesday, am MCAS news release said Monday.

Runway 14/32, which runs northwest to southeast, will close for surface repairs due to regular wear and tear. Runway 05/23 — northeast to southwest — will remain open and serve as the primary runway.

The runway work is expected to be finished in 2017 and follows work on Runway 05/23 completed in August.
