Deputies: Burton man shot while walking down the road Saturday

A man was shot in the leg shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday as he walked down a road in Burton.

The victim told deputies who responded to the Beaufort Memorial Hospital emergency room that he was shot in the left thigh as he walked down Glaze Drive on the way to his cousin’s house, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

The victim said he did not know who shot him, according to the report. The man’s uncle, who brought him to the hospital, said he also didn’t know who fired the shot and that he hadn’t heard or seen anything before his wounded nephew arrived at his house, according to the report.
