Dale Samaritan stops to help women, gets robbed by apologetic accomplice
A Dale man was robbed at rifle point late Friday after he tried to help a group of women who said they were having car trouble on County Shed Road in Burton, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.
The three women were standing outside a white, two-door BMW convertible with its flashers on around 1:30 a.m. when the victim stopped to help, the report said. As the man tried to help start the car, one of the women told him someone was coming to help them, according to the report.
As the victim started to walk away, one of the women pulled out a black rifle from behind her back, according to the report.
“Run them pockets,” she instructed one of the other women, according to the report. When the woman hesitated, she repeated herself, shouting, “B-B, run them pockets!”
The woman complied and took three $100 bills from the victim’s pocket. His wallet and cellphone were still in his truck, he told deputies.
The woman who went through his pockets apologized to him, the report said. “Boo, I’m sorry. You fine as hell, too,” she said to him, according to the report. Then the woman with rifle shouted, “Let’s go!” and the three women left in the BMW.
The victim, in his 20s, estimated the three black women were in their 30s, and all between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-7 and about 130 lbs. One woman had red, yellow and green braids; one had a bob haircut; and the woman with the gun was wearing a hair net.
