Junior Service League accepting dresses for annual prom boutique
The Junior Service League--Beaufort is currently accepting prom dresses and accessories for their 13th annual Prom Boutique.
This event takes places Saturday, Feb. 24, and provides young ladies from Beaufort, Hampton, and Jasper county with a dress for school proms.
According to chapter president, Emily Kremer, the donated items help high school girls prepare for prom while removing the concern of costs. “It is a great reflection of our community coming together to provide for each other.”
“We have it set up just like any boutique, with racks of different sizes, tables with jewelry, and dressing rooms, but everything is absolutely free.” She said that the boutique is the opportunity for young ladies to shop without the stress of a price tag.
She said that the prom boutique is one of the JSLB’s most beloved events, and, “We want to give the girls the best dresses we can.” Kremer encourages those donating items to select, “something that you would want you, or your daughter wearing to prom.”
Gently used prom dresses must be clean and free of rips and stains. They do not accept shoes. However, jewelry, shawls, and handbags are welcome. Items can be dropped off at select locations in Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head, that are listed on the organization’s website.
