Candlelight vigil to be held Thursday for the six lives lost in Green Pond murder

A candlelight vigil will be held Thursday night honoring the the six lives lost Monday in Green Pond, SC.

The service, hosted by a local organization, will start a 7 p.m. and be held at Ace Basin Park, at the intersection of Green Pond Highway and Folly Creek Lane, a common meeting place for people of the Green Pond community.

“Join us the share memories, laugh, cry and pray for our family, friends and community,” an invitation for the vigil says.

Those attending are ask to bring their own white candles and green balloons to the event.

The park hold significance for the family as it’s where their Grandma Maggie would hold her birthday parties. The 101-year-old great-grandmother was believed to be one of the six fatalities in the incident that is part of a murder investigation.
