Community contributions: Bluffton Self Help
Hannah works full time and is a single mother of two young boys.
Her income level and household size made her children eligible for the free and reduced breakfast and lunch programs at their school. During the school year, she does not have to worry about child care expenses and receives financial relief with the meal assistance programs.
She came to Bluffton Self Help in April. She knew that school would be ending soon and she could not afford child care for her children. She had saved up a little money, knowing this would be an additional expense, but she simply could not cover the expense and could not afford to lose her job.
Bluffton Self Help, which works with The Boys and Girls Club of Bluffton, offered assistance.
Bluffton Self Help provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
