Community contributions: Bluffton Self Help

Bluffton Self Help received a request for assistance from Larry, a hard-working single man.

Larry had suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was accidentally struck in the head with a pipe at his job on a construction site. Larry was hospitalized and unable to return to work for several weeks. He applied for short-term disability but had not yet received a response.

He had no income to pay his bills. His landlord agreed to waive his rental fees until he recovered and returned to work, but he still had to pay utilities.

Bluffton Self Help paid his electric and water fees so that he could remain comfortable in his home and concentrate on healing.

Bluffton Self Help provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
