Community contributions: Deep Well Project

At the young age of 37, Alice is very ill. She and her four children live in subsidized housing, but Alice often needs more help than the government can provide.

Her main medical provider is in Charleston, and Deep Well provides monthly gas cards to get her there. One of Alice’s children also has health problems and is treated in Charleston, and Deep Well provides gas for his appointments as well.

Because her food stamps for her large family were cut by almost two-thirds, Deep Well often supplies groceries for the family.

Deep Well provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
