Community contributions: Deep Well Project
Betty had never had the need to call Deep Well before, but after Hurricane Matthew, she was in need of both food and a rent payment.
Deep Well received a form from her employer showing she had missed eight days of work and had not been paid for that time.
Betty had $200 toward the rent, and Deep Well sent a check for the remainder. Deep Well also provided a week’s worth of groceries to take the place of those that were lost when the power was off.
Deep Well provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
