Community contributions: Deep Well Project
Betsy is an 81-year-old woman living in a house that is 40 years old.
She makes do with a very slim income, but she gets into a financial bind when expensive needs arise for her home.
Deep Well had been repairing her central heating and air conditioning unit for over three years, but the brutal heat of last summer made the unit unrepairable. Deep Well hired a company to install a new unit. Betsy will be repaying $500 out of the $4,120 total cost at $15 a month.
Deep Well provides a broad range of social services for poor working families, the disabled, the sick and the elderly.
