Hilton Head renourishment project moves south
The area between Ocean Point North and Salt Spray Lane is now restricted as part of Hilton Head Island’s beach renourishment project.
Crews will start moving equipment and pipeline from the north part of the island to the South Beach area this weekend. South Beach will likely be fenced off starting this weekend, but the project will not begin until the heel of the island is complete.
Mitchelville beach continues to be restricted as sand is spread onto its shore manually.
