Hilton Head good Samaritan turns in Versace wallet

A Hilton Head Island man riding his bike Sunday afternoon around the island’s Dunnagans Alley area found a leather Versace designer wallet on the sidewalk.

The wallet “contain(ed) various cards, paperwork, $48 ... and a Alabama driver’s license,” according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report released Thursday.

The cyclist “made several attempts to locate the owner of the wallet” but was unsuccessful, the report said.

The wallet was then turned over to deputies, who tracked its owner down at an island hotel.

Deputies brought the designer wallet and its contents to the man at the hotel, where he confirmed “all property was accounted for.”
