Memorial services set for Alex Arrieta
Memorial services for Alex Arrieta, the Hilton Head Island School for the Creative Arts fifth-grader who died Wednesday of complications related to acute myeloid leukemia, will be held at 5 p.m. May 4 at Honey Horn on Hilton Head Island.
Friends and community members who supported Alex through his 14-month battle with the disease, which relapsed this past January, are invited to attend this celebration of life and encouraged to wear orange or soccer jerseys to honor Alex’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, plants would be preferred. Alex loved nature, and any plants will be planted with this in mind. A collection box will be set up for donations of stuffed lamb toys for Lambs for Life. Financial donations also will be accepted.
A private burial will be held Thursday at Six Oaks Cemetery on Hilton Head Island.
