Bluffton to begin Pine Ridge lagoon project

Contractors working with the town of Bluffton will soon begin adding and modifying stormwater lagoons in the Pine Ridge neighborhood.

The lagoons will supply water to a new irrigation system to be used in the nearby open spaces.

"By using the stormwater to irrigate, the stormwater volume from nearby developments will be reduced, thus decreasing the potential pollutants from reaching the May River," according to a town release.

The project is expected to cost about $400,000.
