Car wash to benefit the Arrhythmia Alliance, Gavin Quance campaign
A car wash and benefit for the Arrhythmia Alliance will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Hilton Head Lexus Dealership, 540 New River Parkway, Hardeeville.
In addition to car washes, food and drinks will be available for donations and vintage cars from the Sun City Car Club will be on display. Money raised from the event will go toward the placement of Automated External Defibrillators in all Bluffton police cars.
Eighty-year-old Gavin Quance was unable to be resuscitated despite police arriving on the scene five minutes before emergency medical services. Police cars did not come equipped with defibrillators.
