Sun City resident honored for volunteer work

Sun City Hilton Head resident Patricia Goodman has received two awards for her volunteer work in the community.

The former health care worker and second vice chair of the Beaufort County Democratic Party received the Jim Clyburn-John Spratt Service Award at the S.C. Democratic Convention on April 24 in Columbia.

And Beaufort Mayor Billy Keyserling presented Goodman with the Harriet Keyserling Service Award on behalf of the Beaufort County Democratic Party.

Goodman worked with the Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce and Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services to help residents enroll in the federal Affordable Care Act program.
