'Russian Rhapsody' stars Vondracek as soloist

Lukas Vondracek returns this year as the soloist of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra's concert "Russian Rhapsody" at 8 p.m. Jan. 16 and 17.

He also will perform recitals at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the University of South Carolina Beaufort in Beaufort and at 5 p.m. Jan. 23 at Lowcountry Presbyterian Church in Bluffton.

Vondracek performed at Carnegie Hall's Weill Hall on Nov. 22, 2010, as the first-prize winner of the 2010 Hilton Head International Piano Competition.
