Bluffton to implement new four-way stop on Boundary Street. What to expect

Construction crews will install a new four-way stop next week at the intersection of Boundary and Lawrence streets in Old Town Bluffton, the town announced Thursday.

The project will start late Monday and will take several days to install new stop signs and pavement markings. There’s currently only one stop sign at the intersection.

“The new traffic control measure is intended to reduce speeds and improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists traveling through this busy intersection.” Bluffton Director of Communications Debbie Szpanka said in an email.

Szpanka said to avoid the area if possible while work is going on.

The road will not be closed, but a town Facebook post announcing the project encouraged people to watch for workers and keep an eye out for changing traffic patterns.
