New Southern food restaurant opens in Hilton Head. Here’s where, what they’re cooking
Hilton Head Island has a new restaurant for diners seeking a soulful, Southern-style meal.
Good Soul Southern Kitchen held a soft opening on Juneteenth. The restaurant is located at 70 Marshland Road on Hilton Head Island, and offers Southern staple foods from the land and sea.
It’s located inside what used to be Mikki’s All American Cafe. Mikki’s closed several years ago and Good Soul renovated the building and added an outdoor space. The outdoor space features a fire pit, cabanas and a patio for diners.
What’s on offer?
Good Soul’s menu offers a variety of Southern favorites, including seafood, fried chicken and fried okra. Entrée prices range from $24 to $55, and sides are available. The most expensive entrée is Rosie’s Sea Treasure, a plate of shrimp, lobster and conch.
Seafood lovers can find crab, shrimp, crawfish, lobster, oyster, conch and a variety of fish on the menu. If you’re not looking for seafood, Good Soul offers beef ribs, rib eye, pork chops and fried chicken. Chicken wings are available as an appetizer and come in orders of five, 10 or 20. Soups and salads are also on the menu.
It also offers a whole roasted suckling pig by reservation only. Diners must reserve it 24 hours in advance. No price is listed for the suckling pig.
Signature cocktails are also available, according to a post on its Instagram page. The dessert menu offers cornbread, German chocolate cake, pound cake and sweet potato pie.
Good Soul is open for dinner only. Its hours are:
- Sunday and Monday: Closed
- Tuesday to Thursday: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
