There’s still time to vote early in South Carolina’s statewide primary.

Early voting for the primaries began on May 26 and lasts until Friday. There are two days left to cast an early vote, or you can vote on election day, June 9.

Here’s how many people have voted early so far, how you can still do so, and who you can vote for:

Early voting numbers

Thousands of Beaufort County voters have already voted early. As of June 2, 9,216 ballots have been cast across Beaufort County, according to the South Carolina Election Commission. There are 140,821 registered voters in the county.

206,968 early voter ballots were cast across the state. Beaufort County ballots make up about 4% of the total.

How to early vote

Early voting works the same as voting on election day. There are no requirements to vote early, so it’s available to all registered voters.

All you need is your photo ID. Head to one of these four polling locations to vote:

  • Main Voter Registration Office in Beaufort at 15 John Galt Road, Beaufort.
  • Bluffton Branch Library at 120 Palmetto Way, Bluffton.
  • USCB -- Hilton Head Campus, Room 115, at 1 Sand Shark Dr, Hilton Head Island.
  • St. Helena Branch Library at 6355 Jonathan Francis Senior Road, St. Helena Island.

The polls open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. both today and Friday. In primaries, you must choose one party to vote for.
