Hilton Head Island is preparing for another busy summer season. Alongside summer comes a calendar full of holidays and events to enjoy.
If you’re looking for a way to spend the Fourth of July or something to do with your family, there are events to attend that won’t break the bank.
Here are some free or inexpensive events you and your family can attend this summer:
Fourth of July
- Fighter jets will fly over Hilton Head’s beaches around 1:30 p.m. as part of the 2026 Salute From The Shore.
- Sea Pines Resort will hold a Fourth of July parade, carnival and fireworks display in Harbour Town. Live music will also be performed at the fireworks display. Visitors to Sea Pines can purchase a day pass for $10 per car.
- Shelter Cove Towne Centre will hold a free to attend fireworks display as part of its Summer Jams weekly event. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
All summer long
- The Palmetto Dunes Turtle Trot 5k will be held every Wednesday starting June 2 through Aug. 12 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. They take place on the beach and registration costs $30 for adults and $15 for kids under 12. Participants can run or walk.
- Summer Jams at Shelter Cove Towne Centre starts June 9. Bouncy houses, face painting and fireworks will be had for some family fun. The event will be held each Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. through July 28 with free admission.
- Movie Nights in the Park at Shelter Cove starts June 11 and is free to attend. One movie will be shown every Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Find a full list of movies shown here.
- Sunset Celebration at Shelter Cove starts June 19 with free concerts. Concerts will be held every Friday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. through August 7. Find a full list of performers here.
