Hilton Head vacation ownership resort plans renovations. What we know
Barbecue fans will soon be able to enjoy an updated outdoor grilling area at this timeshare resort in Harbour Town.
Marriott’s Harbour Club, located within the Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, is seeking to demolish its current grilling area and construct a new outdoor kitchen overlooking the marsh in its place.
The new kitchen will have propane grills, with permeable pavers in the grilling and seating area. “Permeable” means rainwater will be able to pass through the material and into the soil, resulting in a net decrease of about 349 square feet of impervious coverage.
The existing pavement will be cut with a saw, and a low stucco retaining wall on the site will be demolished. Two palm trees will be cut down and “mitigated on site,” according to application materials.
The project plans are in early stages of development. Architects are meeting with the Town of Hilton Head Design Review Board this week for a pre-application meeting, a preliminary stage in the application process to help prevent delays down the line.
Few details are included in the pre-application packet. It’s unclear when construction is expected to take place.

It’s not the first renovation to the resort’s amenities in recent years. Records show the resort underwent extensive renovations in 2020, and in 2023, a kiddie pool on the site was replaced with a new spa.
