RBC Heritage golf tournament is finally here in Hilton Head. See the daily schedule

RBC Heritage, the annual PGA Tour golf tournament and kickoff to summer on Hilton Head Island, is finally here.

The tournament, which runs Monday, April 13 through Sunday, April 19, is Hilton Head’s biggest golf event of the year. First won by Arnold Palmer in 1969, the Heritage was the only PGA Tour stop in the Palmetto State until 2024.

As the world’s top golfers come off of the Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia, they’ll decide to compete at the Heritage — or not — by Monday. Masters winner Rory McIlroy is out, according to Golfweek, but four past Heritage champions are scheduled to compete, including 2025 winner Justin Thomas, 2024 champion Scottie Scheffler, 2023 winner Matt Fitzpatrick and 2022 champion Jordan Spieth.

Throughout the week, Sea Pines will be buzzing with excitement as some of the biggest names in golf descend on Harbour Town Golf Links in search of a title and the tournament’s signature plaid jacket.

Here’s what to expect this week at Harbour Town.

PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage schedule

Monday and Tuesday

Although the Heritage tournament technically starts on Monday, the course is closed to spectators. Tuesday is when things really kick off with the traditional Heritage opening ceremony and parade around noon.

The parade will include defending champion Thomas, Heritage Classic Foundation board members, state dignitaries and volunteers. It starts at Harbour Town’s Liberty Oak and ends at the 18th green.

PGA Tour professionals can also take advantage of practice rounds all day.

Wednesday

Wednesday is the Pro-Am, the day before the official competition and craziness of the tournament kicks in. This is when the amateurs can get in on the fun. Last year, University of South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer played, as did Senator Lindsey Graham.

Thursday and Friday

The tournament competition kicks off Thursday with the first round teeing off around 7:30 a.m. The second round starts Friday around the same time.

A sea of plaid will descend on Harbour Town on Saturday for Plaid Nation Day. Everyone is encouraged to “wear your plaid with pride!” as they watch the third round, starting at 7:30 a.m.

The Plaid Nation Games will be held on the Heritage Lawn from noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday — the final round

A sunrise service will be held at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, in front of the Liberty Oak. The nondenominational service will feature music, prayer and local ministers.

The final round of golf tees off around 7:30 a.m. After play ends, a winner will be crowned, and the trophy will be presented at the 18th green.
