He won PGA’s Mexican Open. Now this Bluffton golfer is again playing in the Masters
Bluffton-based golfer Brian Campbell is competing at the Masters for the second time in his 11-year professional career this week.
Campbell, 33, is competing for the green jacket this week in golf’s biggest tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. In his Masters debut last year, he finished tied for 32nd place, with a final-round 68, played four rounds and earned $121,538.
The Newport Beach, California native was propelled to the Masters last year just two months before the tournament when he won his first PGA Tour championship, the 2025 Mexico Open. He went on to win the John Deere Classic in Illinois in July.
Last year was also Campbell’s first time competing at RBC Heritage, the annual PGA Tour event at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island. Heritage 2025 was also the first time he played Harbour Town, Campbell told Golfweek at the time.
He tied for 32nd in last year’s RBC Heritage tournament, according to results posted on the PGA Tour’s website. He won $109,083.
The RBC Heritage
RBC Heritage will take place April 13-19 this year. Players have until April 13 to commit, said Angela McSwain, the tournament’s marketing and communications director. Past champions Scottie Scheffler, Matt Fitzpatrick, Jordan Spieth and defending champion Justin Thomas are all slated to return.
The Masters runs from April 6-12. Campbell will compete against golfers like Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy and Scheffler.
