Fans of gothic lit and creepy craft cocktails will have a chance to step into the dark world of Edgar Allan Poe later this month as a traveling, pop-up speakeasy experience honoring the author’s work will make a stop in Bluffton.

The immersive storytelling event will take place from March 26-28 and features “Poe Historians” who will perform dramatic retellings of some of Poe’s most famous works while guests drink themed cocktails prepared by a “macabre lead mixologist.”

The installment will feature four eerie stories from Poe’s collection: The Cast of Amontillado, Annabel Lee, The Pit and the Pendulum and The Fall of the House of Usher.

The 90-minute show will be hosted at Venue 1223 on May River Road, the venue owner confirmed. The $55 ticket price tag includes four drinks and entry into the venue. It is open to guests 21 and older.
