From its signature Flame colored Dutch ovens and minimalist Sea Salt hued sauce pots to its new “Forêt” green casserole dishes, Le Creuset has long been a kitchen staple.

Now, the global cookware brand is deepening its footprint in South Carolina with the opening of a new 300,000 square-foot North American distribution facility in Hampton County on Feb. 20.

Located at 601 Bob Gifford Boulevard in Early Branch, the $30 million investment is intended to strengthen the company’s U.S. logistics network and bring 30 new jobs to the region.

What SC residents should know about new facility

The distribution center, completed by Frampton Construction Company and designed by McMillan Pazdan Smith, consolidates Le Creuset’s U.S. distribution and administrative operations into a single campus designed for efficiency and long-term flexibility.

The site serves as the primary distribution hub for Le Creuset of America.

Situated on a 62-acre site, the facility includes:

  • A cross-dock distribution center with capacity for future expansion.
  • A two-story office component housing executive offices, call centers and administrative teams.
  • Employee amenities, including a cafeteria with an outdoor patio and grill, walking trails and locker rooms.
  • Access-controlled circulation to streamline day-to-day operations.

Le Creuset has held a presence in the Palmetto State for nearly 50 years. The company first established its presence in South Carolina in 1974 and opened its primary U.S. distribution operations in Hampton County in 1997.

Jobs & economic impact

Announced in November 2024, the expansion is expected to provide an economic boost to Hampton County and reinforce the company’s long-term commitment to the region.

When the project was announced, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $200,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to Hampton County to assist with site preparation and construction costs.

The facility’s purpose & company history

Founded in France in 1925, Le Creuset is globally recognized for its premium enameled cast-iron cookware – notably its iconic Dutch ovens – as well as stainless steel cookware, stoneware, bakeware and specialty kitchen tools.

The new facility supports increasing demand for the brand’s products across North America. Strategically located between the Savannah, Georgia, and Charleston areas, the warehouse improves speed-to-market, enhances inventory management and positions the company for future growth phases.
