Mardi Gras at Port Royal 2026: Your full guide to the festival, parade, parking, weather & more
Port Royal’s annual Mardi Gras parade and celebration is back in full swing this year, taking place on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Presented by the Old Village Association, the parade will kick off at 4 p.m. at the United States Post Office located at 1625 Paris Avenue.
From there, it is set to travel down Paris Avenue to 11th Street, then conclude at Shellring Ale Works, 1111 11th Street, for an afternoon of festivities.
To watch the floats, beads and decorated golf carts go by, any spot along Paris Avenue between 16th and 11th streets will give a great view to catch all the action.
After the parade, the Krewe of Port Royal will continue the celebration with food trucks, face painting and a battle of the bands between Whale Branch and Battery Creek high schools.
Visitors can expect Cajun and Creole-inspired food options, games, live music, performances and an all-ages costume contest.
Road closures & parking
The Town of Port Royal Police Department states that Paris Avenue will be closed from the post office to 10th Street from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday for the event.
The parade lineup begins at 3 p.m.
Parking will be available in any public space along Paris Avenue before 3 p.m. as well as the Port Royal Elementary School, according to PRPD.
In areas blocked with cones, no parking or movement will be permitted.
Weather
While last weekend brought almost 4 inches of snow to Port Royal, the National Weather Service says this Saturday is set to be sunny and clear, with a high near 55 degrees.
