No matter if you’re in a pinch to grab something during a lunch break, traveling late in the day or just craving some French fries, fast food is always an easy go-to.
From burgers, shakes and sandwiches, chain restaurants offering the grab-and-go style cuisine can be found everywhere. But, if you find yourself seeking a fast food fix on Hilton Head Island, there are a few places that Google reviewers recommend folks avoid.
Here’s a look at some of the lowest-rated fast food restaurants on Hilton Head and why diners left poor scores.
Burger King: 201 Museum Street
With one of the lowest ratings, Burger King has a 3.1 out of 5-star rating, with most reviewers leaving one star. With 565 reviews total, common complaints from customers included poor service and long wait times.
“Honestly, it’s just not worth the stress of eating a Whopper,” wrote one reviewer.
McDonald’s: 2 Plaza Drive
Holding another lower rating, this McDonald’s location has a 3.1 out of 5-star rating. One-star reviews outnumber all others, with 1,530 reviews left in total. Wait times, customer service and undercooked burgers were frequent complaints from recent reviews.
“[I] waited for over 30 minutes in the line because I put a mobile order in, and my burger was raw when I bit into it,” one customer wrote.
Subway: 437 William Hilton Parkway, Unit A
The fast-food sandwich shop, Subway, holds a 3.2 out of 5-star rating from Google Reviews. With 226 reviews, common customer complaints include incorrect orders, service and unclear closing times.
“[The] last 3 times I’ve ordered my sandwich online, they have messed it up. It was completely drenched in mustard, didn’t even order it with it,” wrote one customer.
McDonald’s: 50 New Orleans Road
This second McDonald’s location on the island has a 3.3 of 5-star rating on Google Reviews. With 1,548 reviews, customers often complained about wait times, service and difficult experiences in the drive-thru line.
“[I] didn’t want to have to leave a bad review, but I hate waiting for my food that’s ready to be picked up,” one reviewer said.
Wendy’s: 2 Nature’s Way
With a 3.7 out of 5-star rating, this Wendy’s location has 1,085 reviews total. Common customer complaints centered around service, cleanliness of the dining area and incorrect orders.
“Wanted to give them a chance, but was let down at every turn,” one reviewer wrote.
