Aldi, Walmart & more: Beaufort County grocery stores open, closed on New Year’s Eve & Day

Missing those last few snacks for your New Year’s Eve party, or just looking to get a jump start on grocery shopping in 2026?

Several grocery stores will remain open or hold adjusted hours over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day for shoppers looking to stock up on the essentials or return unwanted Christmas gifts.

Here’s a roundup of which grocery stores in Beaufort County will be open or closed for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, and their holiday hours.

Grocery store hours for New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day

Food Lion

• Food Lion will be open with regular hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. or 11 p.m. (depending on store location) on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Kroger

• Kroger stores will be open with regular hours from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Pharmacies will be open until 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and closed on New Year’s Day.

Harris Teeter

• Harris Teeter locations will be open with regular hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. or 11 p.m. (depending on store location) on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Walmart

• Walmart will be open with regular hours from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Aldi

• Aldi locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and closed on New Year’s Day. Regular hours return on Jan. 2. 

Publix

• Publix locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on New Year’s Day. Regular hours return on Jan. 2.

The Fresh Market

• The Fresh Market will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on New Year’s Day. Regular hours return on Jan. 2.

Piggly Wiggly

• The Port Royal location will be open with regular hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
• The Hilton Head location will be open with regular hours from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

Target

• Target will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and return to regular hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Day. 

Sam’s Club

• Sam’s Club will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve (opening at 8 a.m. for Plus members). It will be closed on New Year’s Day. Regular hours return on Jan. 2.
