The Purple Cow, a beloved local bakery known for its scratch-made pastries, desserts and baked donuts, has officially opened a new location.

The new space marks a meaningful milestone for owner Lisa Bernstein, known to most as “Bernie,” who founded The Purple Cow in 2015 as an homage to her mother.

The Purple Cow can now be found at 32 Office Park Road, Suite #109, across from the Harris Teeter.

The bakery first became an island icon at its brick-and-mortar location on Matthews Drive before later relocating to Palmetto Bay Road. Rising costs forced the storefront to close in 2022, but Bernstein kept the spirit of The Purple Cow alive through farmers’ markets, patio pop-ups and steady special-order business.

Now, three years later, The Purple Cow has officially set up a new shop on the south side of the island, offering a walk-up service window with a grab-and-go business model.

A grand opening for the new space is set for Saturday, Nov. 22.

The shop is open Wednesday through Saturday, offering both early-morning and evening service from 7 to 11 a.m. and 5 to 10 p.m.
