This SC downtown to host ‘Fox & Friends’ Main Street USA Tour soon. Here’s when, how to watch
Every morning at Blackstone Cafe in downtown Beaufort begins with a meaningful tradition and now, the rest of the country will get to see it too.
Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends morning show will broadcast live from Blackstone’s Cafe on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 6 a.m., as part of its “Main Street USA Tour.”
Every morning, staff and guests gather to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, a daily ritual that began more than 30 years ago thanks to cafe founder Roger Blackstone Alley and his neighbor, Dr. Lanny Krauss. Inspired by a similar practice at Chick & Ruth’s Delly in Maryland, Krauss also donated the ship’s bell that still rings in the cafe today.
Located at 205 Scott Street, Blackstone’s Cafe has been a staple of the Lowcountry community since 1991.
On Aug. 19, doors will open at 6 a.m. at Blackstone Cafe for breakfast and the pledge will be recited live on air, said owner Jake Higgins.
“We love our community and we welcome everyone to come and pledge with us on the 19th, just like we do every day,” Higgins said.
During the segment, which will air from 6-9 a.m., Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy will be interviewing customers inside the cafe and walking Bay Street, speaking with about 10 other local business owners and residents to highlight the history and heart of the Beaufort community.
The “Main Street USA Tour” aims to celebrate and highlight the strength and vital role of small businesses throughout local communities.
Other locations the show has visited so far this year include:
- Marceline, Missouri
- Granbury, Texas
- Tupelo, Mississippi
