About Dwight Yoakam

Dwight Yoakam, a Kentucky native, shook the music scene in 1986 with his debut album “Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.”

Over nearly four decades, he’s notched more than a dozen Top 10 country singles, including hits like “Honky Tonk Man,” “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere” and the Buck Owens duet “Streets of Bakersfield.”

His critically acclaimed albums have sold millions, including the 1993 album “This Time,” which was certified triple-platinum.

Yoakam has won two Grammy Awards and one Academy of Country Music Award.

Beyond the music charts, Yoakam has dabbled in the film and television industry, with memorable roles in “Sling Blade,” “Wedding Crashers,” and his self-directed and written Western film “South of Heaven, West of Hell.”

What to know about the ‘Cosmic Roundup & Rodeo Tour’

Yoakam will be joined by artists including The Mavericks, known for hits like “Dance the Night Away” and “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down,” along with guitarist Junior Brown, famed for his double-neck “guit-steel.”

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Aug. 1, starting at 10 a.m. for the Savannah performance.

Has Yoakam performed in Savannah before?

While the November show is Yoakam’s first at the Enmarket Arena, he’s no stranger to Savannah and the Lowcountry.

He previously played the Johnny Mercer Theatre in Savannah, once in 2016 and again in 2023. He also performed at the Charleston Music Hall in 2022.
