Here’s what will be open and closed July 4th weekend in Bluffton, Hilton Head, Beaufort & more

Forgot the hamburger buns? Out of ketchup? Or just realized you need a last-minute grocery run before the fireworks?

Whether you’re stocking up for a backyard BBQ or just trying to plan ahead of the holiday, here’s a rundown of what will be open and closed around Beaufort County this Fourth of July weekend:

Grocery Stores

  • Food Lion: All locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Kroger: All locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Walmart: All locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Aldi: Opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. on July 4.

  • Publix: All locations will be open for normal business hours:

    • Open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.: Beaufort Plaza, Lady’s Island, May River Crossing, Buckwalter Place and Island Crossing.

    • Open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.: Bluffton Commons at Belfair, Festival Centre at Indigo Park and New River Crossing.

  • Harris Teeter: Hilton Head Park Plaza and Lady’s Island locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Hilton Head Main Street Village location will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Target: Open for normal hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Sam’s Club: Sam’s Club stores will be open for limited hours on July 4. Plus members have early shopping access starting at 8 a.m., while regular Club members’ hours start at 10 a.m. Stores will close for all members at 6 p.m.

ABC Stores

South Carolina does not have laws requiring liquor stores to close on Independence Day, meaning that ABC stores will be open. Some locations may have adjusted hours.

Retail liquor store licensees in South Carolina can only be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Grocery stores are also permitted to sell beer and wine.

City & County Offices:

  • Town of Bluffton offices will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 3 and will remain closed on Friday, July 4. Regular hours will return on Monday, July 7.

  • Town of Hilton Head offices will be closed on Friday, July 4 and will reopen to regular hours on Monday, July 7.

  • City of Beaufort offices will be closed Friday, July 4 and will reopen to regular hours on Monday, July 7.

  • Town of Port Royal offices will be closed on Friday, July 4 and will reopen to regular hours on Monday, July 7.

  • All Beaufort County offices will be closed Friday, July 4 and will reopen Monday, July 7.

Banks and the U.S. Postal Service will also be closed for the Fourth of July holiday.

Emergency services such as police and fire will remain available.

Convenience Centers

All Convenience Centers in Beaufort County will be closed Friday, July 4 and will resume their normal operating schedules Saturday, July 5.

Airports

Both the Hilton Head Island Airport and Beaufort Executive Airport will remain open and operational on Friday, July 4.
